June 29, 2023 Against Affirmative Action | US Supreme Court Reverses A 1964 Decision, Discriminates Based on Race

"We want to make them pass the strongest civil-rights bill they ever passed, because we know that even after they pass it, they can't keep it" - paraphrasing Malcolm X. Recently, the forked tongue was uttered by the US Supreme Court against the 1964 promises of constitutional rights and equality. The United States Supreme Court June 29, 2023 decision against Affirmative Action proved his words true. 

The United States is in its second Post Reconstruction Era. It began after America's second Reconstruction (1950's-1960's), the Civil Rights Movement. Both happened almost one hundred years to the date of their firsts. That means the first Post Reconstruction (1870's to 1960's) period lasted almost one hundred years. America is currently in the 50th year of its second Post Reconstruction. Post Reconstruction is the period when the corrections of Reconstruction are undone and the status quo is returned. 

What America does internationally, it does domestically and vice versa. America's forked tongue does not keep its laws, agreements, promises, deals, commitments.... The same people in America that betray the countries of the world, have betrayed non White and non Asian American citizens. America has again gone back on its word.

In a rare interview, PressTV Spotlight features a speaker from the West that does not repeat the Washington, DC narrative on Ukraine and a speaker from Kiev that sees Russia as the enemy to defeat. Former Marine Intelligence Officer, Scott Ritter and Olena Tregub, Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow in Kiev discuss several current aspects of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. My expectations may have created somewhat of a disappointment. This may have been given the two were not equal in political and military stature. That inequality can be found in Scott Ritter's years of experience in the military, political knowledge and knowledge of history versus that of the Millennium Fellow. Reasons why will be presented further down in this posting. Still I was surprised that someone from Kiev interviewed on PressTV and with Scott Ritter. 

While Vice President Kamala Harris Prepares Visit to Africa | The US Extends Its Sanctions Against Zimbabwe

Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled for a week-long visit to Africa. She is the fifth member of the Biden administration in recent months to visit the continent. The Vice President is scheduled to visit the Central African countries of Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia. The visits are a foreign policy follow up to the United States African Leader Summit.  

What does the Biden administration do just before VP Harris' visit to Africa? What does the Biden administration do to thwart its attempts to decrease the Russian and Chinese influence in Africa? What does the Biden administration do to counter its own outreach to the continent of Africa? President Biden extends the sanctions against Zimbabwe for another year. It continues the United States', European Union's and North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) foreign policies against African countries that have led them to move away from the West towards Russia and China. 

After Sanctions Failed Ten Times | The US & NATO Turn to the International Criminal Court, ICC

The US and NATO have used several international tools to bring down The Russian Federation, President Putin and cause regime change in Russia. So far all have failed. There were ten rounds of sanctions. There were failed price caps on Russian oil. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was summoned when Russian Ally Forces gained control over the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). It found no shelling of the plant by the Russian military as claimed by Kiev. The United Nations, its General Assembly, Human Rights Council and Security Council have been used to go after and turn the world against Russia. Amnesty International was attacked by pro-Ukraine voices for its 2022 report condemning the Ukrainian military for surrounding themselves with civilians. That hurt the Ukraine good, Russia bad narrative. Using civilians as shields is against international law. The ICC did not respond in kind to the Amnesty International report. Now the International Criminal Court (ICC) has been tasked to bring down The Russian Federal and its leader, President Putin. It has issued warrants for the arrest of President Putin and Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights, Maria Lvova-Belova. The ICC has lost credibility in it being fair and just as it targets Africans. In doing the US's bidding, all of these international organizations have lost credibility due to their selective hypocritical partial biased attempts at justice.

Crash Course | Military Training of The Ukrainian Military and Its International Legion (Mercenaries)

Can there be a successful crash military training course in just thirty days, four weeks? Attempts to answer this question contain much debate from several sides. Ukrainian civilians are being recruited to fight, given a crash course in military training and sent directly onto the battlefield. To help decide an answer to this question, a comparison to regular military training is necessary. This article is a brief view of what is involved in regular military training. It will compare the first thirty days (four weeks) of regular military training with the training received in the current US and NATO crash course for the Ukrainian military. The first thirty days of military training only cover part of the Basic Training (BCT) period. While reviewing the complete training and requirements for military recruits, it will be asked if that amount of training can be compacted into a thirty day time period. Given the conflict in Ukraine is very much its proxy war against Russia, focus will be on military training within the United States.

Anti Russia Sentiment | Ray McGovern on America's Use of "Others" to Gain Consent For War

As the world endures another United States' war, Ray McGovern speaks to Schiller Institute Harley Schlanger on how the American government gains consent for its wars. The use of the concept of "others" is to make targeted people seem less than human. The video of their discussion is below with a link. The Special Military Operation in Ukraine is indeed a United States proxy war against Russia. It is supported by the confessions of Angela Merkel, Francois Hollande and Petro Poroshenko on the true intent of the Minsk Agreements. The concept of "other" is again used to gain the consent of the American people for another United States' imperialist war.

Ray McGovern details examples found in America's history where the concept of "others" has been used to establish hate towards a targeted group. The hate fosters a sense of superiority over the targeted group. The three; hate, sense of superiority and concept of "others" are used to establish an entitlement. Armed with a sense of entitlement, Americans consent to the government that represents them and its treatment of targeted people. Ray McGovern reveals how the concept of "others" is married to Americans' consent for their government's continuous wars. 

Dr. Marc Lamont Hill's Necessary Speech to The United Nations

On Wednesday November 28, 2018 news correspondent Dr. Marc Lamont Hill spoke before the United Nations (UN) on Palestine.  Dr. Hill had just left Palestine moments earlier.  He spoke to the United Nations on his observations of the treatment of the Palestinian people by their colonial occupiers.  In speaking on this injustice, Dr. Hill held America accountable for its role in the occupation of Palestine and its correlation with America’s internal history of racism  On November 29, 2018 a Cable News Network (CNN) spokesperson announced that Marc Lamont Hill was no longer under contract with them.  He had been political commentator at CNN.  This was a day after Dr. Hill’s speech before the United Nations.

Race Baiting - What Is Really Being Said

Bantu Stephen Biko said "The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed." There are many ways that the oppressor controls the oppressed using this weapon. One of those ways is with words. As any writer knows the choice and arrangement of words is a vital tool in relaying to the reader. It can be done consciously and/or subconsciously. During centuries of oppression of the descendants of Africa in America, African Americans have met a barrage of control via words and their assigned meanings. Wording is also used to control those who would oppress. Catchy sound bites and phrases are often used. Discussing and challenging the use of one of these phrases is the goal of this post. In weaponizing the sound bite "Race Baiting," has the oppressor successfully manipulated the minds of those who would oppress and those who are oppressed?

Black Lives Matter - More Than A Movement

You only have to spend a short time on social media to gather what Black Lives Matters means to our

people.  As reported more and more Black people are leaving the bias information source called mainstream media.  We are relying more on the other media resources afforded on social media.  Social media is also a place for our voice on many topics especially race and racism to be heard.  That voice has been missing in the discussion since the mid 1970's.  We have voiced what Black Lives Matter really means to the children of Africa here in America.
The sharing on social media around Black Lives Matter has very little to do with politics and politicians.  This is even with the political trolls trying to squash it.  It is not solely about the organization and its organizers, really very little.  It has to do with how the words have made our people feel.   It has uplifted and awaken the spirit of our youth.  That is the true movement.  

The Muted on Racism - Know Your Place and Be Silent

I invented race and racism.  I will tell you when there is racism. 

Other wise be silent, stay down and know your place.

One act of empowerment of the Civil Rights Movement was to speak what we had kept silent for centuries.  Brother Malcolm was the most empowering leader on “telling White people what you feel.”  We empowered ourselves to tell our true history.  We empowered ourselves to speak out against our oppressors.  Beginning in the mid 1970’s and ever increasing in the 1980’s, the 1990’s and into the new millennium, our voice on the oppression of racism has been muted.  This orchestration to return us to silence, mute our voices, and destroy our freedom of speech on our racist oppression began with Nixon Presidency.  He adopted and ran the same Presidential campaign as George Wallace.  Hence he was elected to give back the role of superiority to White Americans.  We have been silenced in some form since our arrival in this country.  

An Evening With Black Agenda Report - 7th Anniversary

As promised I am sharing my experience while attending Black Agenda Reports (BAR) 7th Anniversary on October 18, 2013 in New York City. It has taken sometime as my laptop no longer would allow WORD, Excel or my peripheral keyboard to work after I returned. How convenient. I went and purchased a Google Chromebook for reasons I will not discuss here. Now I am able to share my experience, what I was able to take with me and inspiration.

My Get on The Bus:

As with my attendance at the 1997 Million Woman’s March in Philadelphia, I had my real life experience as I chose to travel by bus. For the Million Woman’s March, when I got on the bus there was only one sister from Buffalo, New York. As I reached the Pennsylvania border and on into the state, it was filled with Black women going to the March. The number one topic was how White teachers treat our children. Yes I made it to the March. That is another post.

When leaving for the bus station this October 18, 2013, I chose to do so via taxicab. My driver was conveniently from Africa. Due to events of attention around my protest of the Iraq War, the possible invasion of Iran, bombing innocent people in Syria, being anti-capitalism and other activists activities I was a little suspect. Well before we reached the bus station I was not an African to him, I was westernized, lost my heritage, should not call myself an African and he was informed neither should he as he wore western clothes and had been brainwashed to hate his brothers and sisters here in America. Eyes opened with more information from me, we were good friends by the time we reached the station and we were both Africans.

Why I Attended:

For sometime I have been a faithful reader, follower and sometime commentator on Black Agenda Report. I am Radio Free America there as I am on NBC Newsvine. It is sarcastic contradiction of the Radio Free America airing pumped into the old USSR. It was not free but, propaganda by the other side. I seek for my airings to be free. On Google Plus I am E. What Is In a Name – The New Coloreds

The importance of a name is demonstrated in the time parents dedicate to naming their children.  This is especially true with African American parents.  Unlike others America we seek more than a four letter word for a name for our children.  We use the creativity that is ours, and produce names that say you are not like everyone else.  You are an individual.  You can be different.  You have independence.  You are important.

When I replied to the question of a fellow White employee asking me my name, she replied that sounds made up.  I replied it took thought and creativity to come up with more than four letters.  Most White Americans do say it is a pretty name. 

I say all this in leading up to the naming of us a people ever since we were unloaded from the ships.  The process of naming us has played an important role in our positioning here in America.  First it was lowering in that the names were given to us by those who oppressed us.  Therefore the names are oppressing.  Also first it was a renaming that took away our sense of self, history and identity, especially with our motherland.  Second as freedom was taken and denied, our naming coincided.  As we supposedly graduated in position so did our naming.  Now we approach the recent naming and the under the current of Post-Civil Rights Reconstruction Era. 

Discrimination Called Diversity as It Attacks Affirmative Action

First was the watering down accomplished by the corporate avoidance term "diversity."  Title VII and state regulations address the real crime, discrimination.  Diversity or not is a symptom or part of discrimination.  Diversity sounds more corporate, pleasant.  Changing the term from discrimination to diversity is a subtle but, strong distancing by employers from the real crime addressed in Title VII.

Dismantling Affirmative Action is part of the current era post reconstruction of the Civil Rights Movement of the 50's and 60's. 

COINTELPRO Accusations of Terrorism Against Sister Assata Shakur

There are many writings on websites and blogs in support of Sister Assata Shakur. I thought it ample coverage but, then thought how could I on this Mother’s Day celebration, celebrate the motherhood of my Black sisters without addressing this affront against Black women all over the world.

Accusations of terrorism are the new COINTELPRO.  This accusation was sanctioned by America's First African American President and his African American Attorney General. This is an affront to Black women all over the world, including America’s First Lady. Accusations of terrorism are being used to stifle dissent as our government and its military complex has brought the wars home to roost against the American people.

Who Are The Who?

If a picture says a thousand words, than a poem paints a thousand pictures. Each time a poem is read, a new picture appears. Such is a poem I posted some time ago, yet few were able to see the pictures.

I would like to paint the pictures here though not quite with a thousand words. One major tool of poetry is the brush strokes of sound. In English classes we learn of the rhythmic beats of poetry. The other way sounds are created is by using certain words, e.g. words contain the sound make by the letter “S” The poem I am referring to, used the sound made by the word “who.” Thus the title of this article and an explanation of the use of the word “who” and who are the “who” in this particular poem and to make them visual.

The poem was first sent to me by my daughter along with links to its explanation. I went on to do further research.

The poem asks who at the same time by using the word “who”, it is making a statement. Instead of asking the poem is telling that the “who” did these things. One must understand who the “who” are before being able to understand the poem and appreciate its message. It is a message brought to its reader using the sound of the word “who.”

America's Wars Coming Home to Roost

Wars always Come Home to Roost.  It can be in the form of war products like DDT, drones, or security complex treating citizens as the enemy.  It can be suffering from the debt of war.  It can be helping soldier physically, emotionally and economically scarred.  It can be the divisiveness and hatred drummed up by those promoting the war.  It can be the pain families of soldiers suffer.  It can be future conflicts in the world.  It is coming home to roost in America to the benefit of the war industries. 

"Somebody Blew Up America" - By Poet & Activist Amiri Baraka

It is the question of "Who" that moves one when listening to this poem. It reminds me of the days of the Beatniks. It makes me want to snap my fingers as my mind views his words. It is a question that does not need a formal response. The answers are in the Mr. Amiri Baraka's questions of "Who?" It is similar to the question asked by some post September 11, 2001. What did you do to them? The "Who" was already known. It was the details of what the "Who" had done to these people to make them so angry to fly planes into buildings and kill Americans. I asked neither question as I knew the answers. I just needed the specifics of the details of the "What." So I wrote that that history would tell the "What" as it told the "What" that made Native Americans so angry as to attack the settlers. Thus for me my titled writing "Savages and Militants and Terrorist - The War Against Those Who Fight Back. That is those who fight back against the "Who."

Is the “Who” those who divide and conquer us for their own personal gains? All weapons do not go boom yet are as destructive i.e. racism, sexism, poverty, homelessness… What cultural insensitivity or, as my friend Aunk more correctly calls it cultural poisoning, caused September 11, 2001? Mr. Amiri Baraka speaks of many examples of silent weapons and their destructive nature.

There are still many unanswered question around September 11, 2001. Mr. Baraka asks some of my questions which already contain the answer. Most Mr. Baraka questions tell and show us why we should question and not let other think for us. His questions warn of a mind that only houses sound bites full of propaganda and the self-interest of others. As they say“free your mind” and to that one must question.

Somebody blew up America and it was just not what happened on September 11, 2001.  Who?

Let Mr. Baraka move you. Close your eyes if needed. Snap your fingers if needed. Listen again and again if needed and tell me at the end under comments what you feel and think about the "Who." We all at some time can be victimized by Mr. Baraka's "Who."
