Black Lives Matter - More Than A Movement

You only have to spend a short time on social media to gather what Black Lives Matters means to our

people.  As reported more and more Black people are leaving the bias information source called mainstream media.  We are relying more on the other media resources afforded on social media.  Social media is also a place for our voice on many topics especially race and racism to be heard.  That voice has been missing in the discussion since the mid 1970's.  We have voiced what Black Lives Matter really means to the children of Africa here in America.
The sharing on social media around Black Lives Matter has very little to do with politics and politicians.  This is even with the political trolls trying to squash it.  It is not solely about the organization and its organizers, really very little.  It has to do with how the words have made our people feel.   It has uplifted and awaken the spirit of our youth.  That is the true movement.  

"Say it loud, I'm Black and proud."  The offering by Brother James Brown made the souls of so many Black youth whole in the 1960's  "Thus Black Lives Matter" does today. It is shared over and over and over and over... and over again on social media.  As Black and proud destroyed a self-hate nurtured and fed to us by our oppressor over centuries, so has Black Lives Matter destroyed the current feedings.  

In recent years that self-hate is fed in through the sound bite “Black on Black Crime.”  It is a racist term standing on its own.  It is made even more racist by how it is used.  Adding to its racism is the lack of the term “White on White crime.”  There is no reporting of Whites killing Whites and the stats around it.  Nor do we ever hear that White people need to stop killing White people and unite.  The self-hate of Black on Black crime  is fed to us in several forms.  Killings in a predominately Black areas are reported with the implications that the perpetrators are also Black.  All due to the the Black on Black crime campaign led by mainstream media.  I heard statistics reported for the city of Chicago on how many Black were killed this past July 4th.  I am still waiting for the stats on how many White people were killed by White people that same day in the country.  It is this kind of similar constant messaging that was fed to our ancestors during the years of slavery.  That messaging made them more docile and conciliatory.  Black Lives Matter is strengthening their descendants.  Black on Black crime has made America compliant when it comes to the current slavery, mass incarceration.

Again, who does this killing in predominately Black neighborhoods is not reported?  I have long thought that some of “senseless acts of violence” were committed by others coming into our committees and killing us.  I live in a midsize city with definite racial borders.  Some of these killings happen on the wrong side of the borders to be Black on Black. In taking advantage of the distraction that only Black people kill each other, a White person would never be suspect.  The Klan of the fifties would have enjoyed this opportunity.  Perhaps they would not even needed hoods.

I remember being awaken to the fact that all the westerns I watched in the 1950’s lied to me.  Native Americans were the ones that were wronged.  Since the worldwide awakening to the truth, White America has never stopped hearing how they stole land from the Native people and committed a genocide.  They also hear the fact that they have never stopped.  My awaken as was the awaken of others was met with “Native Americans have always killed themselves.  They were warring against each other before the Europeans landed.”  I also remember witnessing a decolonization of Africa around the 1960’s.  Europeans of the world heard and still hear how they stole land from Africans, invaded, massacred, robbed natural resources, polluted, stole and enslaved, and committed Africans to a form of racism called apartheid.  I witnessed Europeans all over the world say African tribes were fighting each other before we came.  That also was the image I saw on television and in books.  Some how as with Black on Black crime if a people kill each other, it justifies the massacre of these people by an outside invasive oppressive people.  If that was the case, the Moors would have left no White people alive in Europe.  No one has committed a greater suicide of their own than those descending from the continent of Europe.  I am witnessing our people massacred, incarcerated based on mainstream media painting a picture that we killing ourselves anyway so it does not matter.  Black Lives Matter has the momentum and power to Black out that picture.  

Black Lives Matter has to be seen by what it has become to a people as well as its intent, its goals and its creators.  Its loss will create a void to be filled by the master’s self-hate mantra for us, Black on Black crime.  I have spent over a year quelling our people’s fixation on the lie that we kill each other more than any other people.  I have weaned many from sucking in this poison and waged a campaign for us to see ourselves in our eyes and not our oppressors.
